Proactive dating

Finding a job, making friends, doing ministry, and going to seminary all required me to take some action. If I did something beyond praying and waiting, did that mean I was taking over for men and sinfully thwarting God’s design for marriage?

Looking to scripture, I saw, there are women who we admire, who take active roles particularly in the way they relate to men. She perfumes herself, dresses up and then presents herself at Boaz’s feet after he climbs into bed.

According to a recent Elite Singles survey, just 6% of women would suggest a first date and just 2% would call back to arrange a second.

While this may seem normal, some surprising responses from men in our poll may hint at a problem with this dating routine.

With 5 Sunday School classes, an overflowing sacrament meeting, 2 Relief Societies, and 2 Elders Quorums, it can feel like an Olympic event just to find your best friend to sit with.

Just two weeks ago I discovered that an old friend is in my ward.

Create the kind of life you would like to invite others into.

Yet prophets continue to encourage young single adults to become more engaged in trying to become engaged—to realize the ideal of marriage and family.

After five years of personal development I can confidently say that mindfulness is perhaps the most important skill I have learned in regards to self-mastery.

Not just sitting meditation but a practical everyday kind of mindfulness.

That seems a lot bolder than telling a guy that you like him!

And scripture applauds her, it does not condemn her.
